After having taken so many portraits of well willing professional modelsit was great fun trying to take formal portraits of some of the largest animals alive. The bison, who I named Boris wasn’t very cooperative but after feeding him close to thirty loafs of bread, which my assistent threw at him from a safe distance we did get him to pose in the right position… I did ask him to smile but that apparently wasn’t an option…. This series was taken with a large format ( 4-5 inch ) film camera….using only available light.
